All strangers who come, shall be accepted like Christ. For he will say: „I was a stranger and you took me in“.
It is with these profound words that Saint Benedikt introduces chapter 53 of his „Rules of Order“, which are entirely devoted to the subject of hospitality. Quite in keeping with the intention of the Founder of the Benedectine Order, the Benedectine Monastery of Göttweig invites thousands of music lovers every year to the open air „Classic under Stars“ . Here against the historical backdrop of the magnificent Monastery an encounter of a very special sort takes place.
In the year 200, The Monastery of Göttweig was listed as part of the Unesco World Heritage together with the Landcscape of the Wachau und the Monastery of Melk and the Medieval City of Krems.
So that the concert in the evening also becomes a special occasion for the palette, the team of Harry's Gastrotainment offers culinary delights on-site from 17.00, during the break and after the concert. The monastery's restaurant is closed on days when „Classic under Stars“ takes place.
